There are four in the Bolivian team that will travel to Geneva, Switzerland.
The Bolivian robotics team is made up mostly of women, four women and one man. The base are students from Potosí. They arrived in Sucre from Caiza “D”, José María Linares province of the Department of Potosí, and won the national robotics tournament “First Global Bolivia”. For this reason, they will represent the country in the robotics world championship to be held from October 13 to 16 in Geneva, Switzerland.
Before, the stereotype of women was macho. She was assigned roles in the kitchen, taking care of the home, but those times have changed.
The world has changed, also Caiza “D”, a Potosí municipality located in a rural area. Before, the mandate was “women in the kitchen, in pastry making, in knitting, in sewing; men to electricity. All that has changed. It has capsized. “Yes. Among the requirements to participate in the national robotics tournament held in Sucre was the inclusion of at least one woman in each team, but in Caiza, the selection was based on a competitive exam and the team that resulted from that selection criteria was made up of mostly by women because they have shown greater capacity.
During the national selective that took place in Sucre, the young people showed their great ability to solve local problems with robotics projects.
Zárate explains that the Pablo VI school teaches robotics in the first and second years of secondary school as a support subject in the subject of general technique.

La selección boliviana de robótica está conformada mayoritariamente por mujeres, cuatro mujeres y un varón. La base son estudiantes potosinos. Llegaron a Sucre desde Caiza “D”, provincia José María Linares del Departamento de Potosí, y ganaron el torneo nacional de robótica “First Global Bolivia”. Por ello, representarán al país en el mundial de robótica a realizarse del 13 al 16 de octubre en Ginebra, Suiza.
Antes, el estereotipo de la mujer era machista. Se le asignaba roles en la cocina, el cuidado del hogar, pero esos tiempos han cambiado.
El mundo ha cambiado, también Caiza “D”, un municipio potosino ubicado en al área rural. Antes, el mandato era “mujeres a la cocina, a la pastelería, al tejido, a la costura; los hombres a la electricidad. Todo eso ha cambiado. Se ha volcado. “Sí. Es bastante impresionante cómo las generaciones actuales ya son igual —admite el tutor de la delegación de Caiza, Henry Zárate—, de igual a igual, y, en nuestro caso, lo dimos por examen de competencia”.
Entre los requisitos para participar en el torneo nacional de robótica realizado en Sucre estaba el incluir a cada equipo por lo menos a una mujer, pero, en Caiza, la selección fue por examen de competencia y el equipo que resultó de ese criterio selectivo estuvo integrado mayoritariamente por mujeres debido a que estas han demostrado mayor capacidad.
Durante el selectivo nacional que se llevó adelante en Sucre, los jóvenes mostraron su gran capacidad para solucionar, con proyectos de robótica, problemas locales.
Zárate explica que el colegio Pablo VI enseña robótica en primero y segundo de secundaria como materia de apoyo en la materia de técnica general.
De las Ciencias Sociales, de la historia, a la robótica: así cambió el profesor Henry Zárate… dejar la historia para dedicarse a la historia, la programación, la mecánica de los robots.
Por ahora, los resultados no han sido malos. El equipo de inventores disruptivos integrado por Magalí Muruchi Choque, Banesa Tuco Choquevillca e Ismael Suyo Condori ha ganado el primer lugar en el torneo de robótica dejando en segundo y tercer lugar a Chuquisaca y Santa Cruz.
Esa es la base de la selección boliviana de robótica a la que se suman otras dos mujeres como tecnólogas, Yoseth Astorga, del colegio Monseñor Santiesteban de Porvenir, Pando, y Estefani Veizaga, del Simón Rodríguez de Aiquile, Cochabamba. En total, son cuatro mujeres y un solo varón, como para que quede claro quiénes son las que mandan.
