The damages received by the patrimonial entry. Museum of Santa Teresa
A VAN HIT AND MISALIGNED THE ENTRANCE TO THE SANTA TERESA MUSEUM IN POTOSÍ
The previous week a vehicle hit one of the wooden gates of the Museum and Convent of Santa Teresa, which caused damage to the hinges. These were installed in 1685.
According to data provided by personnel from the Potosí repository, on Wednesday, August 24 at 11:00, a light lead-colored Suzuki van collided with that building entrance. It is the rear, located on Santa Teresa street corner Ayacucho.
Apparently the vehicle was traveling at high speed on Ayacucho and the driver was unable to turn correctly on Santa Teresa. His journey stopped when he hit one of the wooden leaves -the gate was open- which hit the stone wall with force.
“The door was built in such a way that despite its size it could be easily opened and closed. But now the hinges are misaligned and the blade scrapes on the floor,” reported Amparo Miranda, one of the volunteers at the repository.
Using security cameras from nearby buildings, the vehicle could be identified, although not the license plate. The images and the damage report were delivered to the Prosecutor’s Office.
However, there is no response so far. Not even, Miranda assured, on behalf of the Culture units of the Mayor’s Office and the Government’s Office they appeared to evaluate, in a technical way, the damage and what options there are to repair them.
UNA VAGONETA GOLPEÓ Y DESALINEÓ LA ENTRADA AL MUSEO DE SANTA TERESA DE POTOSÍ
La anterior semana un vehículo impactó contra uno de los portones de madera del Museo y Convento de Santa Teresa, lo que provocó daños a los goznes. Éstos fueron instalados en el espacio en 1685.
Según datos entregados por personal del repositorio potosino, el miércoles 24 de agosto a las 11:00, una vagoneta Suzuki color plomo claro chocó contra esa entrada del edificio. Es la trasera, ubicada en la calle Santa Teresa esquina Ayacucho.
Al parecer el vehículo estaba circulando con alta velocidad por la Ayacucho y el chofer no pudo doblar correctamente en la Santa Teresa. Su recorrido se detuvo cuando impactó en una de las hojas de madera -el portón estaba abierto- la cual golpeó con fuerza en la pared de piedra.
“La puerta estaba construida de tal manera que pese a su tamaño podía abrirse y cerrar con facilidad. Pero ahora los goznes están desalineados y la hoja raspa en el piso”, informó Amparo Miranda, una de las voluntarias del repositorio.
Mediante cámaras de seguridad de edificios cercanos se pudo identificar el vehículo, aunque no la placa. Las imágenes y el reporte de daños se entregaron a la Fiscalía.
Sin embargo, no hay respuesta hasta el momento. Ni siquiera, aseguró Miranda, de parte de las unidades de Cultura de la Alcaldía y Gobernación se presentaron a evaluar, de forma técnica, los daños y qué opciones hay para refaccionarlos.
