The Senamhi issued an orange alert in Santa Cruz, Beni, Tarija and Chuquisaca. The entrance of a cold front is expected this Wednesday. The winds will reach speeds of up to 90 kilometers per hour

Given the forecast of a sharp drop in temperatures and strong winds in Santa Cruz, Beni, Tarija and Chuquisaca, the National Meteorology and Hydrology Service (Senamhi) declared an orange alert in these four departments.
The state forecaster points out in its statement that in this period temperatures will range between 9 and 12 degrees. In addition, snowfalls are expected in the valleys of Tarija, Chuquisaca and Santa Cruz.
The Senahi document details that the entry of the cold front will be felt with greater intensity in the provinces of Gran Chaco, Arce, Cercado, Méndez, Avilez and O’connor, in Tarija.
While in Chuquisaca the alert is directed especially to the provinces of Luis Calvo, Hernando Siles, Azurduy, Tomina, Nor Cinti, Sur Cinti, Yamparáez, Zudáñez and Boeto.
In Santa Cruz, in the provinces of Cordillera, Vallegrande, Florida, Ichilo, Obispo Santitevan, Ibáñez, Chiquitos, Warnes, Sara, Guarayos, Ñuflo De Chávez and Velasco. And in Beni, in the provinces Moxos, Ballivián, Cercado, Yacuma, Marbán and Mamoré.
The orange alert is also due to the “moderate to temporarily strong” winds expected from Wednesday [07/31/2019] to Saturday [08/03/2019] in these four departments. In Santa Cruz, says the Senamhi, they will reach a speed of up to 90 kilometers per hour. Especially in the provinces of Cordillera, Chiquitos, Andrés Ibáñez, Warnes, Ichilo, Sara, Florida, Bishop Santistevan, Guarayos and Ñuflo De Chávez.
In Tarija, the winds, with a southeastern direction, are expected to reach speeds of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour in the Gran Chaco province. In Chuquisaca, in the province of Luis Calvo, southeast winds of up to 50 kilometers per hour are forecast.
The state forecaster warns that in the provinces Moxos, Marbán, Cercado, Ballivián and Yacuma de Beni, southeast winds are expected to reach 60 and 80 kilometers per hour.
