Adequate films for the blind are delivered.

The Cinematheque and SCAT will give copies to institutions tomorrow

In May 2014 the Bolivian Cinematheque (Oscar Soria 100) showed three domestic films -The day silence died, Faith Matters and American Visa- [El día que murió el silencio, Cuestión de fe y American Visa] arranged by Audio Studio SCAT so they can be enjoyed by the blind. Tomorrow [10/08/2015], in a ceremony, the film archive and the company delivered the DVD versions of these institutions working with the beneficiaries of the project.

The event will be at 10:30 in the premises of the Cinemateca Boliviana. At the ceremony attended the directors of the modified films: Paolo Agazzi, Marcos Loayza and Juan Carlos Valdivia, respectively.

“This is the first step in a larger project. We want to really democratize the Bolivian cinema, integrate audiences that due to their special abilities can not attend a movie theater,” said Mela Marquez, director of the Cinematheque, where the plan was born.

The audio from the above films was modified to include a voiceover describing the actions of the tape. This narrator has no feeling in his voice, not to direct the viewer, and does not interrupt the sound effects of the original.

The films were also shown in the cities of Cochabamba and Santa Cruz, thanks to the sponsorship of the Foundation Estas Vivo [You are alive] and local institutions. Currently support is sought to continue the project and include subtitles for the deaf.
