Pagina Siete reports:
Rains affected 50% of soybean crops
Grain prices are lower
“There was a fall in grains (prices); in some cases 30%, however, the costs are still maintained, and for this reason there is a crisis hitting the productive sector,” said the president of ANAPO, Reynaldo Diaz.
For example, he explained that until last year, the price was $400 and currently “we are talking about $320, there was a fall of 30%.” In addition, he reported that 50% of soybean crops were affected by heavy rains.
Aside of what the news explains above, we must remember that current government keeps on failing on food security public policies such as: lack of a judicial system that protects land owners and producers from violent takeovers; smuggling of food brings down the prices to the detriment of our producers.
This government is failing big time!!
