This news is great to lift our spirits and show that Bolivia is not only governmental corruption. El Deber reports:
Young Bolivian violinists will accompany Inma Shara
Six young Bolivian violinists will accompany renowned Spanish Orchestra Director Inma Shara, next week, on a tour of four concerts by three Iberian cities, reported Friday the NGOs Ayuda en Accion [aid in action] who organizes the presentation.
“The six representatives of the Children and Youth’s Orchestra of San José de Chiquitos (East) travel to Spain to publicize the result of musical training they are receiving the support of Ayuda en Accion”, says a press document sent to AFP.
Young people aged between 12 and 16 will play with the Orquesta de Camara Pro Arte [Pro Art Chamber Orchestra] and will be featured in Oviedo, Madrid and Seville between December 11 and 14.
Violinists were already under the baton of Shara’s last May, when the Director arrived in San José de Chiquitos to meet these young music promises.
“I was thrilled to discover what the music means for those boys and girls: hope and illusion”, Shara said back then, according to the bulletin.
The young violinists are indigenous to an area with a great cultural tradition inherited from the Jesuit missions that left a great contribution in terms of Baroque music.
Jesuit missions were declared as world heritage site by UNESCO in 1990.
