It is noon, Wednesday, October 19, 2011. La Paz is greeting the marchers as they finally arrived La Paz. Insults, bad-mouthing, tear gas, gagged, beaten, broken ribs could not stop the proud indigenous people of the Bolivian lowlands.
La Paz population is showing their real face, welcoming the TIPNIS group like heroes, offering them not only water, food but open, honest smiles and above all respect.
The TIPNIS group has said they intend to pass through the main plaza, Plaza Murillo is finally open for them to cross, en route to another plaza, San Francisco to meet with the other people who camped there, waiting for the marchers to arrive. The intention is to rest and only tomorrow Thursday 20th will they look after a meeting with the executive government officials.
It is 12:49 pm and PAT news program reports that current Bolivian president will not step out of his office (if he is there) to greet the marchers, nor will anyone from the government do.
La Paz city belongs to the TIPNIS people today!
