Dollar Repayments Begin: Savers Can Withdraw Their Deposits Starting This Wednesday

In this first stage, savers with deposits ranging from US$1,001 to US$3,000 will be able to access their funds.

This Wednesday, July 15, the repayment of U.S. dollar deposits in the financial system begins. The process launches a gradual schedule that will continue through July 2027. In this first phase, savers holding deposits between US$1,001 and US$3,000 will be eligible to withdraw their funds.

“The first stage of the schedule, aimed at deposits of up to US$1,000, was completed with positive results. Most savers chose to keep their deposits within the financial system, reflecting growing confidence in economic stability and in the measures implemented by the Government,” according to a statement from the Ministry of Economy.

According to the schedule released by the Central Bank of Bolivia (BCB), repayments will take place on the following dates:

  • July 15, 2026: Deposits between US$1,001 and US$3,000
  • August 14, 2026: Deposits between US$3,001 and US$5,000
  • September 13, 2026: Deposits between US$5,001 and US$8,000
  • October 15, 2026: Deposits between US$8,001 and US$10,000
  • November 16, 2026: Deposits between US$10,001 and US$15,000
  • December 14, 2026: Deposits between US$15,001 and US$20,000
  • January 15, 2027: Deposits between US$20,001 and US$30,000
  • February 15, 2027: Deposits between US$30,001 and US$50,000
  • March 15, 2027: Continued repayments for deposits between US$30,001 and US$50,000
  • April 15, 2027: Repayment of the remaining deposits
  • May 17, 2027: Repayment of the remaining deposits
  • June 15, 2027: Repayment of the remaining deposits
  • July 15, 2027: Completion of the process with repayment of all remaining deposits

The Ministry of Economy also advised individuals with dollar-denominated accounts to verify their account balances and review the official schedule to determine the date on which they may request the return of their funds.
