“We Want to Work”: Citizens Confront Marchers and Reject COB Mobilization
This Tuesday marks the ninth day of marches and the second day of a hunger strike set up at three pickets in the city of La Paz. The COB is calling for the repeal of Supreme Decree 5503.
This Tuesday marks the ninth day of mobilizations led by sectors that make up the Bolivian Workers’ Center (COB), which are demanding the repeal of Supreme Decree 5503, a measure that eliminates fuel subsidies. Amid the protests, citizens are expressing their disagreement with the marches taking place and occupying downtown La Paz.
They complain that, due to the protests, they are forced to close their businesses, while others accuse the marchers of blocking vehicular traffic, paralyzing transportation and harming their daily activities.

“We want to work,” a woman demanded today as she confronted the marchers, shouting at them that they should clear the roads and allow activities in downtown La Paz to continue normally.
Meanwhile, in other images, a man is seen asking one of the marchers, “What do you do for a living?”, questioning why he was participating in a mobilization that has already lasted several days.

“Queremos trabajar”: Ciudadanos encaran a marchistas y rechazan movilización de la COB
Este martes se cumple el noveno día de marchas y el segundo día de huelga de hambre instalado en tres piquetes en la ciudad de La Paz. La COB pide la abrogación del DS 5503.
Este martes se cumple el noveno día de movilizaciones protagonizadas por sectores que conforman la Central Obrera Boliviana (COB) que piden la abrogación del DS 5503, que elimina la subvención de hidrocarburos. En medio de las protestas, la ciudadanía manifiesta su disconformidad con las marchas que se realizan y que copan el centro paceño.
Reclaman que, debido a las proestas, se ven obligados a cerrar sus negocios mientras que otros acusan a los marchistas de impedir el paso vehicular paralizando el transporte por lo que sus actividades se ven perjudicadas.

”Queremos trabajar”, reclamaba una mujer esta jornadamientras encaraba a los marchistas a quienes les gritaba que debían dejar libres las vías y permitir que las actividades, en el centro paceño, continúen con normalidad.
Mientras, en otras imágenes, se observa a un hombre preguntar a uno de los marchistas: “¿Tú, de qué trabajas?”, cuesionándole el por qué participaba de la molvilización que ya lleva varios días.

Los dirigentes de la COB, en días anteriores, señalaron que las medidas de presión son indefinidas y se irán radicalizando hasta que el Gobierno abrogue el DS 5503.
