President Rodrigo Paz stated on Wednesday night that he has no rough edges to smooth over with Vice President Edmand Lara and affirmed that his work is institutional.

“Today, the Minister of the Presidency (José Luis Lupo) was with him (Lara) to coordinate matters of an institutional nature. I have nothing to smooth over; as you have seen, my work is institutional,” he said at a press conference in the city of Cochabamba.

The president said that his work is institutional and at the service of the people and that in the meeting between Minister Lupo and Lara several issues were discussed, such as the selection of magistrates and electoral officials.

Minister Lupo and the Vice Minister of Autonomies, Andrea Barrientos, met this Wednesday with Lara at the Vice Presidency to coordinate matters of institutional management, confirmed the head of the Presidency.

On Wednesday morning, Lara called on Paz to “overcome any differences and work together” and resolve disagreements with maturity.

During the afternoon, the vice president called a session of the Plurinational Legislative Assembly (ALP) for this Friday in order to pave the way for the selection of magistrates and also electoral officials.

Regarding this, Paz said that “the intention is correct,” but that the matter must first go through the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate.
