HE BELIEVES HE WILL CONTINUE SEEKING IMPUNITY

President Luis Arce stated that Evo Morales has generated support from the popular bloc for the Christian Democratic Party (PDC), with the intention of having an “easy target” in Rodrigo Paz and thereby wearing him down in pursuit of impunity and positioning himself again as a future candidate.
“I believe he (Evo Morales) has planned this and has mobilized votes from his own militants and even managed to get some of ours to support him as well. In the end, the popular sector backed this PDC candidacy. And it is the candidacy that Evo Morales is calculating to be the weakest, so that he can start doing the same thing he did with our government — attacking to wear down the government, attacking to generate social and economic chaos, just as he did to us,” Arce told EFE.
In the president’s view, Morales has with Paz the same strategy as with the outgoing government: to wear him down in order to secure impunity and be enabled to run again as a candidate.
“Evo Morales has planned to have an easy target, a weak target, so he can wear him down from the very first moment and begin once again his race to become a candidate — first by wiping clean all accusations against him, achieving impunity for all the crimes he has committed; second, by getting himself cleared to run and going into the elections,” he emphasized.
Morales stated on Monday that votes from the “evista” faction had given victory to the PDC and, in that sense, said it is not a “blank check,” but that from now on it must govern “in consultation with the people.”
Evo faces a human-trafficking charge, to proceed to trial for allegedly having had a relationship with a minor and fathering a baby while serving as president.

El presidente Luis Arce consideró que Evo Morales ha generado un apoyo del bloque popular al Partido Demócrata Cristiano (PDC), con la intención de tener un “blanco fácil” con Rodrigo Paz y, de esa manera, desgastarlo en la perspectiva de tener impunidad y proyectarse de nuevo como candidato.
“Yo creo que él (Evo Morales) lo ha planificado y él ha generado votación de parte de su militancia y ha logrado que parte de nuestra militancia también apoye. El sector popular apoyó al final esta candidatura del PDC. Y es la candidatura que Evo Morales, está calculando, es la más débil para poder empezar lo mismo que hizo con nuestro gobierno, el ataque para desgastar al gobierno, el ataque para generar caos social y económico como lo ha hecho con nosotros”, manifestó Arce a Efe.
En criterio del mandatario, Morales tiene con Paz el mismo plan que con él gobierno saliente: desgastar para generarse impunidad y ser habilitado para participar como candidato electoralmente.
“Evo Morales lo que ha planificado es tener un blanco fácil, un blanco débil para poder desgastarlo desde el primer momento y empezar nuevamente su carrera por ser candidato y porque, primero, se borre todas sus acusaciones, haya impunidad en todos sus delitos que ha cometido, segundo se lo habilite como candidato y vaya a las elecciones”, enfatizó.
Morales aseveró el lunes que los votos evistas habían dado la victoria al PDC y, en ese sentido, señaló que no es un “cheque en blanco”, sino ahora debe gobernar “consultando al pueblo”.
Evo enfrenta una acusación por el delito de trata, para ir a juicio por supuestamente haber tenido una relación con una menor de edad y procrear un bebé, cuando ejercía el cargo de presidente.
