What is the profile of those who, as of today, would vote blank, null, or don’t know who to vote for? In the latest survey by Red UNITEL, residual votes exceed 30%.

Ipsos CIESMORI conducted a study of their characteristics for Unitel and found that 64% of those who say they will vote blank are women, 42% are between 29 and 44 years old, and 42% have only completed high school.

Those who say they will cast a null vote share characteristics with those who will vote blank: they are mostly women (55%), 39% completed high school, and most are between 29 and 44 years old (39%).

The greatest differences are among undecided voters: the majority are women (58%), 63% are between 29 and 69 years old, and almost half of them (43%) have only completed primary school.

In all three cases, these are people living in the country’s main cities. Blank and null voters live in La Paz and El Alto (33% blank) (39% null), but the undecided are mostly found in Santa Cruz (45%).

There is more data on the undecided: 42% are not convinced by any candidate, 27% are torn between two or three candidates, and 14% have already decided their vote but do not want to say (14% are hiding their vote).

The share of people determined to vote blank or null has also declined. In the previous poll, 65% of those intending to vote blank were certain and would not change their vote; this percentage has dropped to 47%.

Similarly, in the third poll, eight out of ten who said they would vote null claimed they would not change their mind. In this survey, 48% could end up voting for a candidate.

As for the reason to vote blank or null, eight out of ten who say they will do so are not convinced by any candidate (80%).
