Political analysts believe that the recent Unitel poll shows a fragmented electoral landscape and that some candidates are stagnating. The high percentage (over 30%) of those who declared themselves undecided or who intend to cast a blank or null vote stands out.

“The two main opposition candidates (Samuel Doria Medina and Tuto Quiroga) remain with slight drops but without any change in their relative position. The variations in Tuto and Samuel’s numbers are within the margin of error, which can be considered statistical turbulence. They don’t mean much, other than that they are not growing,” said lawyer Nadie Beller on her social media.

She added that the slight rise of Manfred Reyes Villa “keeps him in the race, but still without clear competitiveness.” “For now—she concludes—the electoral board continues to show fragmentation, with no figure emerging with the capacity to generate a real break in the general trend.”

Journalist and lawyer Andrés Gómez highlighted that 20.7% of those surveyed do not want to vote for any of the candidates; and on the other hand, he considers that Doria Medina and Quiroga remain stagnant. “Both split the anti-MAS vote, and have not gained support beyond that electoral territory. Rodríguez drops from 14.2% to 11.8%. I deduce this is because as people get to know Morales’ protégé more, they become more disenchanted,” he stated on his social media.

Meanwhile, journalist Tuffí Aré said the most relevant aspect of the poll is the 30% of respondents who “have not yet chosen or are not convinced by any of the 9 presidential candidates.” “The teams of Samuel, Tuto, Andrónico, and Manfred—who are the ones with the best chances—have a lot of work ahead in the last 5 weeks of campaigning,” he affirmed.
