Dunn explains why he didn’t finalize an alliance with ADN and MNR: ‘freedom needs new structures’ | Dunn explica por qué no concreto alianza con ADN y MNR: ‘la libertad necesita estructuras nuevas’

SPEAKS OF THE FUTURE, NOT THE PAST

The pre-candidate Jaime Dunn responded to criticism for not having finalized alliances with Nationalist Democratic Action (ADN) and the Revolutionary Nationalist Movement (MNR). He stated that he seeks a pact with the future, not with the past, and that the vision of freedom for the country requires new structures with fresh ideas.

In a statement, he explained that there was only dialogue with these political parties, without reaching an alliance.

He indicated that he has met with various political forces, under the premise of not giving up the principles of liberty, renewal, and new leaderships, but no success was achieved.

“Our proposal to all of them was clear: it was not about negotiating positions, but about building a shared vision to save Bolivia. Because when a country is in crisis, there is no room for petty calculations or personal interests. The homeland is not to be divided or distributed; the homeland is to be served,” Dunn’s statement reads.

He clarified that with ADN and MNR it was not possible to “consolidate the necessary common ground within the available time for a structured and lasting agreement, to build a new model of political accord that guarantees the accomplishment of the major tasks needed to remove MAS from power and build an authentic Republic.”

Dunn stated that the “unity blocs,” focused on simply adding up votes without direction or a clear project, end up weakening democracy. “That old politics is precisely what we must overcome,” he urged.

“That is why we say, with absolute conviction: to truly change Bolivia, freedom needs new structures, with new leaderships, with fresh ideas and firm principles. Only then can we break free from the cycle of power for power’s sake and begin a new chapter for Bolivia,” he added.

Finally, Dunn closed this chapter and announced that he will focus his energy on “building a new citizen pact, not with the past, but with the future we long to conquer.”
