IN 13 STATE COMPANIES, WITH RETROACTIVE
The president of the College of Economists of Tarija, Fernando Romero, warned that the 3% salary increase in 13 state companies will increase this year’s fiscal deficit, which was planned at 7.49%. He questioned whether the Government continues to allocate resources to this sector taking into account that the majority of companies are loss-making.
“This means that fiscal spending will increase in this administration, consequently we will be far from the established goal of the fiscal deficit. The national government has projected that it would be close to eight percent, but we believe that this will exceed that percentage,” the expert told ANF.
Through Supreme Decree 5029, approved on Wednesday by President Luis Arce, a salary increase of up to 3% was established for 13 state companies in which the State has a majority shareholding.
Economist Gonzalo Chávez, in recent days, described the increase as a “loyalty bonus” and questioned the retroactivity for these state companies.

El presidente del Colegio de Economistas de Tarija, Fernando Romero, advirtió que el incremento salarial del 3% en 13 empresas estatales elevará el déficit fiscal de este año, que estaba previsto en un 7,49%. Cuestionó que el Gobierno siga destinando recursos a este sector tomando en cuenta que la mayoría de las empresas son deficitarias.
“Eso significa que se va elevar el gasto fiscal en esta gestión, consecuentemente vamos a estar alejados de la meta establecida del déficit fiscal. El Gobierno nacional ha proyectado que iba a estar cerca del ocho por ciento, pero consideramos que este va a sobrepasar ese porcentaje”, dijo el experto a la ANF.
A través del Decreto Supremo 5029, aprobado el miércoles por el presidente Luis Arce, se dispuso el incremento salarial hasta del 3% para 13 empresas estatales en las que el Estado tenga una participación accionaria mayoritaria.
El economista Gonzalo Chávez, en pasados días, calificó el incremento como un “bono a la lealtad” y cuestionó la retroactividad para estas compañías estatales.
