Marco Antonio Aramayo, former director of the Indigenous Fund, died in the last few hours. The information was confirmed by his wife to the Unitel network.
Aramayo was the only one arrested for the millionaire embezzlement from the Indigenous Fund. He was in preventive detention for 7 years and was accused of more than 200 trials, despite the fact that he was the one who denounced the irregularities in this institution.
Aramayo was admitted last Thursday to the Hospital de Clínicas due to a cardiorespiratory arrest. On Saturday he was transferred to the Cotahuma Hospital at the request of the mayor of La Paz, Iván Arias, due to the lack of attention that the health system had with Aramayo.

Aramayo era el único detenido por el millonario desfalco al Fondo Indígena. Estuvo con detención preventiva por 7 años y fue acusado por más de 200 procesos, a pesar de que fue él quien denunció las irregularidades en esta institución.
Aramayo fue ingresado el pasado jueves al Hospital de Clínicas por un paro cardiorrespiratorio.El sábado fue trasladado al Hospital de Cotahuma a pedido del alcalde de La Paz, Iván Arias, ante la falta de atención que tenía el sistema de salud con Aramayo.

The agony of Aramayo at the hands of the MAS
Marco Aramayo’s “crime” was having denounced the corruption in the disappeared Indigenous Fund, the one that became the spoils of high-ranking social leaders who supported the government of Evo Morales.
Although the embezzlement denounced by Aramayo is millionaire, there is a case that has political importance and that consists of the allocation of Bs 300 thousand to four leaders of the Unity Pact to transfer people to Tiwanaku for the third symbolic possession of Evo Morales in the ruins .
The then president Evo Morales would describe Aramayo as a “double criminal” and immediately thereafter he would be showered with complaints, trials and preventive detentions. In fact, Aramayo himself recalled that, in a single day, judges from different parts of the country imposed precautionary measures on him 14 times.
Meanwhile, the leaders accused of having received millionaire sums from the Indigenous Fund in their personal accounts were released from prison, either by abbreviated trials or simply by the passage of time, among them the former Minister of Rural Development Nemesia Achacollo, who was the responsible policy of the Indigenous Fund. Many of them, those closest to the former president, did not even enter jail.
Instead, Aramayo had to live a martyrdom impossible to imagine and digest for the human mind. He has been imprisoned for seven years, has more than 250 proceedings against him, 26 preventive detentions were issued and he was taken to dozens of prisons because he must respond to trials in different courts in the country, without taking into account his hypertension, which is what finally took him to an intensive care unit.
Among the atrocities that came to light is his own testimony that, in the Cobija prison, in the midst of a prison conflict, along with murderers, rapists and thieves, he was stripped naked and laid on the floor for four hours, while the police trampled on top of his body. And there is the other case of Tarija, when the other defendants pleaded guilty and received their freedom in an abbreviated trial, while he was sentenced to five years in prison and at the same time other cases were opened and other detentions were ordered so that he would never get out from prison.
Bolivian law establishes that a person cannot be tried more than once for the same crime, let alone in different jurisdictions, but Marco Aramayo is being tried 259 times for the same crimes and in different places in Bolivia.
Marco Aramayo is the biggest victim of injustice and abuse of power by the MAS. What happens to him will be the responsibility of his executioners.
La agonía de Aramayo a manos del MAS
El “delito” de Marco Aramayo fue haber denunciado la corrupción en el desaparecido Fondo Indígena, aquella que se convirtió en botín de los altos dirigentes sociales que apoyaban al gobierno de Evo Morales.
Si bien el desfalco denunciado por Aramayo es millonario, hay un caso que tiene importancia política y que consiste en la dotación de Bs 300 mil a cuatro dirigentes del Pacto de Unidad para trasladar gente a Tiwanaku para la tercera posesión simbólica de Evo Morales en las ruinas.
El entonces presidente Evo Morales calificaría a Aramayo como un “doble delincuente” y acto seguido le lloverían denuncias, juicios y detenciones preventivas. De hecho, el propio Aramayo recordó que, en un solo día, jueces de diferentes partes del país le impusieron medidas cautelares 14 veces.
Entre tanto, los dirigentes acusados de haber recibido millonarias sumas del Fondo Indígena en sus cuentas personales fueron saliendo de la cárcel, ya sea por juicios abreviados o simplemente por el paso del tiempo, entre ellos la exministra de Desarrollo Rural Nemesia Achacollo, que fue la responsable política del Fondo Indígena. Muchos de ellos, los más allegados al exmandatario, ni siquiera entraron a la cárcel.
En cambio, Aramayo tuvo que vivir un martirio imposible de imaginar y de digerir para la mente humana. Lleva preso siete años, tiene más de 250 procesos en su contra, le dictaron 26 detenciones preventivas y fue llevado por decenas de cárceles porque debe responder a los juicios en diferentes juzgados del país, sin tomar en cuenta su hipertensión, que es la que finalmente lo llevó a una unidad de terapia intensiva.
Entre las atrocidades que salieron a la luz está su propio testimonio de que, en la prisión de Cobija, en medio de un conflicto carcelario, junto a asesinos, violadores y ladrones, fue desnudado y tumbado al piso por cuatro horas, mientras los policías pisoteaban encima de su cuerpo. Y está el otro caso de Tarija, cuando los otros acusados se declararon culpables y recibieron su libertad en juicio abreviado, mientras que él fue sentenciado a cinco años de prisión y al mismo tiempo le abrían otros casos y le dictaban otras detenciones para que nunca saliera de prisión.
Las leyes bolivianas establecen que no se puede juzgar a una persona más de una vez por el mismo delito y menos en diferentes jurisdicciones, pero a Marco Aramayo lo están juzgado 259 veces por los mismos delitos y en diferentes lugares de Bolivia.
Marco Aramayo es la mayor víctima de la injusticia y del abuso de poder del MAS. Lo que le ocurra será responsabilidad de sus verdugos.
