Tarabuco will live today [03/20/2022] the Great Pukara and Pujllay, one of the largest folk and cultural events in the country, which closes this year’s Carnival festivities.

On Wednesday, from a concentration of dancers on public roads, the official launch of the Tarabuco Carnival was carried out with a symbolic entrance representing the celebration.

Chuquisaca closes its carnival activities today with one of the most important cultural events in the country, which brings together authorities and tourists from inside and outside Bolivia.

Pukara is an altar that consists of a support on which seasonal agricultural products, drinks, breads and donuts, as well as cheeses and meat, are hung, as a way of reflecting the gratitude of the production to the Pachamama.

Pujllay, which in Quechua means to play or dance, is a celebration that is commemorated by the battle of Cumbate on March 12, 1816, where the people of Tarabuco freed themselves from the Spanish yoke.

Tarabuco vivirá hoy [20/03/2022] el Gran Pukara y Pujllay, una de las manifestaciones folklóricas y culturales más grandes del país, que cierra las fiestas de Carnaval de este año.

El miércoles, a partir de una concentración de bailarines en vía pública, se realizó el lanzamiento oficial del Carnaval de Tarabuco con una entrada simbólica en representación de la celebración.

Chuquisaca cierra hoy sus actividades carnavaleras con una de las manifestaciones culturales más importantes del país, misma que reúne a autoridades y turistas del interior y exterior de Bolivia.

Pukara es un altar que consiste en un soporte en el que cuelgan productos agrícolas de la temporada, bebidas, panes y rosquetes, además de quesos y carne, como forma de reflejar el agradecimiento de la producción a la Pachamama.

Pujllay, que en quechua significa jugar o danzar, es una celebración que se conmemora por la batalla de Cumbate del 12 de marzo de 1816, donde la gente de Tarabuco se liberó del yugo español.
