Bolivian Billy Borth will not forget his vacation in the US. He was passing by a bus station in Miami (USA), when he saw that a man was attacking a woman and his instinct made him run to contain the attacker and stop the attack.
The program Nights without Truce, from Cadena A Red Nacional, which interviewed Borth, showed the video where the subject is seen who, with the braid of one of his shoes, tries to strangle the woman and also hits her in the face until the Bolivian arrives to neutralize the attack.
“The only thing I thought was that this was not something that should pass,” he told the national TV program, and that despite the fact that the offender was more robust, he found ways to control him with a jiu-jitsu key in the neck.
“I was afraid the attacker would start hitting my face or get up on me and hang like a backpack,” he said, but it didn’t happen because I held him tight enough to hold him still,” Borth said.
“I just tried to calm him down, the whole time I spoke in his ear to calm him down while he held him.” Once reduced, Billy assured that the minutes became eternal, waiting for help, first a guard appeared, who only limited himself to yelling at the attacker not to move, then two other guards arrived and finally a policeman appeared. “As no one was helping me and the guards were not approaching either, I decided to let him go when I saw the guards and that everything was already under control.”
Due to his great act of courage, the Miami County Police sent him an email of thanks for his timely intervention: “On behalf of the officers of the Miami-Dade Police Department and the residents of this county, I would like to thank you. for having assisted the victim in this case. Thank you very much again”.
“They thanked me many times for the decisions I made and they let me know that the victim is very grateful to me, with whom I spoke minutes after the attack and assured that she did not know the attacker, which was an inexplicable attack,” he said.
The Police, due to the reservation of the investigation, did not mention the motives for the attack or the name or nationality of the protagonist or the victim.

El boliviano Billy Borth no olvidará sus vacaciones en EEUU. Pasaba por una estación de buses de Miami (EEUU), cuando vio que un hombre estaba atacando a una mujer y su instinto hizo que corriera para contener al atacante y parar la agresión.
El programa Noches sin Tregua, de Cadena A Red Nacional, que entrevistó a Borth, mostró el video donde se ve al sujeto que, con la trenza de uno de sus zapatos intenta estrangular a la mujer y también la golpea en su rostro hasta que el boliviano llega para neutralizar el ataque.
“Lo único que pensé fue que eso no era algo que debía dejar pasar”, indicó al programa de TV nacional, y es que a pesar de que el delincuente era más fornido, se dio modos para controlarlo con una llave de jiu-jitsu en el cuello.
“Tenía miedo que el atacante me empiece a golpear la cara o se levante conmigo encima y quede colgando como una mochila”, dijo, pero no sucedió porque lo agarré bien fuerte, lo suficiente para dejarlo quieto”, relató Borth.
“Yo solo traté de calmarlo, todo el tiempo le hablé al oído para que se calmara mientras lo sujetaba”. Una vez reducido, Billy aseguró que los minutos se hicieron eternos, a la espera de ayuda, primero apareció un guardia, que solo se limitó a gritarle al atacante que no se moviera, después llegaron otros dos guardias y finalmente se hizo presente un policía. “Como nadie me ayudaba y los guardias tampoco se acercaban, decidí soltarlo al ver a los guardias y que todo ya estaba controlado”.
Debido a su gran acto de valentía, la Policía del Condado de Miami le envió un email de agradecimiento por su oportuna intervención: “En nombre de los oficiales del Departamento de Policía de Miami-Dade y los residentes de este condado, quisiera darle las gracias por haber asistido a la víctima de este caso. Muchas gracias de nuevo”.
“Me agradecieron muchas veces por las decisiones que tomé y me hicieron saber que la víctima está muy agradecida conmigo, con la cual hablé minutos después del ataque y aseguró que no conocía al atacante, que era un ataque inexplicable”, indicó.
La Policía, por la reserva de la investigación, tampoco mencionó los motivos del ataque ni el nombre ni la nacionalidad del sujeto protagonista ni el de la víctima.
