This Thursday the remains of the military will be buried in the General Cemetery of the capital, in the pavilion of the veterans of the Chaco War.
The remains of General Manuel Marzana, the Chuquisaca hero of the Chaco War, arrived in the city of Sucre on Wednesday after their exhumation in the General Cemetery of La Paz. The soldier’s coffin was received with honors by the Army and local authorities.
“We are receiving with the honors that correspond to a hero of the Chaco War, a national hero, a hero from Chuquisaca. We are very proud to be here at this moment, to receive and transfer the remains from the city of La Paz to the city of Sucre,” said the head of the Second Information Department of the Bolivian Army, Waldo Llave.
He expressed his gratitude to the people of Sucre for receiving and accompanying the acts that were carried out to pay tribute to the memory of the general who commanded the last Bolivian defense in the Chaco War, which faced Bolivia and Paraguay.
Upon arrival in the capital of Chuquisaca, a mass was celebrated in the Cathedral church. A burning chapel was also installed in the San Francisco barracks.

Este jueves los restos del militar serán enterrados en el Cementerio General de la capital, en el pabellón de los beneméritos de la Guerra del Chaco.
Los restos del general Manuel Marzana, el chuquisaqueño héroe de la Guerra del Chaco, llegaron el miércoles a la ciudad de Sucre luego de su exhumación en el Cementerio General de La Paz. El féretro del militar fue recibido con honores por el Ejército y las autoridades locales.
“Estamos recibiendo con los honores que corresponden a un héroe de la Guerra del Chaco, un héroe nacional, un héroe chuquisaqueño. Estamos muy orgullosos de estar en este momento, de recibir y trasladar los restos de la ciudad de La Paz a la ciudad de Sucre”, expresó el jefe del Departamento Segundo de Informaciones del Ejército de Bolivia, Waldo Llave.
Expresó su gratitud a la población de Sucre por el recibimiento y acompañamiento a los actos que se realizaron para rendir homenaje a la memoria del general que comandó la última defensa boliviana en la Guerra del Chaco, que enfrentó a Bolivia y Paraguay.
A la llegada a la capital chuquisaqueña, se celebró una misa en la iglesia Catedral. También se instaló una capilla ardiente en el cuartel de San Francisco.
Este jueves, los restos de Marzana serán enterrados en el Cementerio General de Sucre, en el pabellón de los beneméritos de la Guerra del Chaco.
