Dictators club
Bolivians would have to be consulted about their preferences when the president attends a meeting in which such conflicting criteria will be presented, as happened at Celac.
It was a disappointment and a shame that, at that meeting, on behalf of eleven million Bolivians, the president aligned himself with the club of the most despicable dictatorships in the region.
It was a shame that the president came to applaud Nicolás Maduro, the dictator who had just been branded a ruthless tyrant by a detailed and heartbreaking United Nations report.
It cannot be that you are going to applaud a butcher just because your previous boss, or your current partner or your sympathies with distant empires ask you to. Some criteria you would have to apply, especially if you want to not be defined as a puppet.
And he also supported the heir to the Cuban dynasty, who has just submitted with blood the young people who had proposed to change “Homeland or death” for “Homeland and life.” He had them killed in the streets in the name of the “revolution.”
In this case, he could have been guided by the attitude of the gagá president of Mexico, who went so far as to say that in 62 years Cuba has not aligned itself with any foreign power! The president may say that he received the support of 55% of the voters last October and that he does not need to make any consultation, but he knows that this figure is as false as the ones he gave on the economy when he was minister of the coca grower .

Los bolivianos tendrían que ser consultados sobre sus preferencias cuando el presidente asiste a una reunión en que se presentarán criterios tan contrapuestos, como ocurrió en la Celac.
Fue una decepción y una vergüenza que, en esa reunión, en nombre de once millones de bolivianos, el presidente se haya alineado con el club de las dictaduras más despreciables de la región.
Fue una vergüenza que el presidente haya ido a aplaudir a Nicolás Maduro, el dictador que acababa de ser calificado como un despiadado tirano por un detallado y desgarrador informe de las Naciones Unidas.
No puede ser que vayas a aplaudir a un carnicero sólo porque tu anterior jefe, o tu actual socio o tus simpatías con imperios lejanos te lo pidan. Algún criterio tendrías que aplicar, sobre todo si quieres que no te definan como un títere.
Y también respaldó al heredero de la dinastía cubana, que acaba de someter con sangre a los jóvenes que habían propuesto cambiar “Patria o muerte” por “Patria y vida”. Mandó a matarlos en las calles en nombre de la “revolución”.
Para este caso podía haberse guiado por la actitud del presidente gagá de México, que llegó a decir que ¡en 62 años Cuba no se alineó con ninguna potencia extranjera! ¿No se enteró este mexicano que quizá el mayor aporte a la humanidad del régimen castrista fue haber esquilmado a la Unión Soviética y de esa manera haber contribuido a su desaparición y al fracaso del comunismo?
El gobernante boliviano se alineó en esa reunión con el dictador de Nicaragua, que ha mandado a la cárcel a todos los candidatos opositores que pretendían presentarse en las elecciones de noviembre. Ahora ese dictador y su horrible mujer serán los únicos candidatos en esas elecciones.
Hubiera podido, si pensaba un poco, estar en el bando demócrata, encabezado por el presidente Luis Lacalle Pou de Uruguay, que está recibiendo en su país a todos los argentinos que huyen del caos peronista y está empeñado en corregir los errores del Mercosur para que no se convierta en un lastre para los países miembros sólo por razones ideológicas.
Quizá el presidente diga que él recibió el apoyo de 55% de los electores en octubre pasado y que no necesita hacer ninguna consulta, pero sabe que esa cifra es tan falsa como las que él daba sobre la economía cuando era ministro del cocalero.
La próxima vez que asista a una reunión similar, por favor, un referéndum. Con la condición de que respete el resultado.
