Christian burial
The Soviet Union died on November 9, 1989 when the Berlin Wall fell. The death certificate, however, was written on December 8, 1991, when the USSR was dissolved.
The Movement to Socialism (MAS) fell on November 11, 2019, when coca grower Morales fled the country. But his death certificate was written on April 11, 2021, when he suffered defeat in four departments.
When the wall fell, the Soviets had no hope of making the once superpower survive and the party leaders began to dispute the spoils, as happened with the little things of the Bubulina in the movie Zorba the Greek.
In the case of MAS, the dispute over the spoils of the dominant party between 2006 and 2019 is giving an unpleasant spectacle. They also have no hope that the apparatus can survive the blows it received.
The Soviets had waged the cold war against the United States since 1945, but were defeated. The Americans had an infallible ally to win that war: communism.
The masistas, in turn, arrived on November 11, 2019 defeated beforehand. The ally that democratic Bolivia had was the corruption of the MAS and the fact that its leader belonged to the most discredited economic sector: he was a coca grower.
Difficult to govern a country in the name of an illegal economic activity and try to survive. Once I told my friend Filemón Escóbar why, being a legendary mining leader, he had chosen to join the cocaleros to make the revolution, and that it would have been the same as joining the pedophile association (without thinking about what I was doing such an accurate allusion). Filipo got angry with me, but later, when he left MAS, he returned his friendship and solidarity.
The heirs of the Soviets dedicated themselves since 1991 to survive supported by the atomic arsenal they had inherited. They occupied themselves with the creation of very efficient systems to adulterate electoral results in other countries, for which they will now have to respond to international forums. And they are tormenting Ukraine.
The show that the masistas are giving now is very grotesque. The positions of a government that came to power thanks to a fraudulent system, perhaps of Soviet origin, are disputed, a system that has not yet been disarmed.
The body of MAS has gone into decomposition. Although it does not deserve it, it should be given a Christian burial.

La Unión Soviética murió el 9 de noviembre de 1989 cuando cayó el muro de Berlín. El acta de defunción, sin embargo, fue escrita el 8 de diciembre de 1991, cuando se disolvió la URSS.
El Movimiento al Socialismo (MAS) se cayó el 11 de noviembre de 2019, cuando el cocalero Morales huyó del país. Pero su acta de defunción fue escrita el 11 de abril de 2021, cuando sufrió la derrota en cuatro departamentos.
Cuando cayó el muro, los soviéticos no tenían esperanza alguna de hacer sobrevivir a la que fue una superpotencia y los jerarcas del partido se dedicaron a disputarse los despojos, como ocurrió con las cositas de la Bubulina en la película Zorba el Griego.
En el caso del MAS, la disputa por los despojos del que fue el partido dominante entre 2006 y 2019 está dando un espectáculo desagradable. Tampoco tienen esperanzas de que el aparato pueda sobrevivir a los golpes que recibió.
Los soviéticos habían librado la guerra fría contra Estados Unidos desde 1945, pero fueron derrotados. Los norteamericanos tuvieron un aliado infalible para ganar esa guerra: el comunismo.
Los masistas, a su vez, llegaron al 11 de noviembre de 2019 derrotados de antemano. El aliado que tuvo la Bolivia democrática fue la corrupción del MAS y el hecho de que su caudillo perteneciera al sector económico más desprestigiado: era cocalero.
Difícil gobernar un país en nombre de una actividad económica ilegal y pretender subsistir. Alguna vez le dije a mi amigo Filemón Escóbar por qué, siendo un legendario dirigente minero, había elegido sumarse a los cocaleros para hacer la revolución, y que hubiera sido igual a que se sumara a la asociación de pedófilos (sin pensar en que estaba haciendo una alusión tan certera). Filipo se enojó conmigo, pero luego, cuando dejó el MAS, me devolvió su amistad y su solidaridad.
Los herederos de los soviéticos se dedicaron desde 1991 a sobrevivir apoyados en el arsenal atómico que habían heredado. Se ocuparon a la creación de sistemas muy eficientes para adulterar resultados electorales en otros países, por los que ahora tendrán que responder ante foros internacionales. Y están atormentando a Ucrania.
El espectáculo que están dando ahora los masistas es muy grotesco. Se disputan los cargos de un gobierno que llegó al poder gracias a un sistema fraudulento, quizá de origen soviético, un sistema que todavía no ha sido desarmado.
El cuerpo del MAS ha entrado en descomposición. Aunque no se lo merezca, habría que darle una cristiana sepultura.
