Bolivia bathed in gold in racquet
The Bolivian representation stood out in the Pan-American Championship of Racquetball, after a week of competition that concluded yesterday in Temuco (Chile), it obtained nine gold medals of which one was in open, six in junior and two in challenger.
Carlos Keller won the golden in the most competitive category, the open. He did it in singles when he beat American David Horn in the final by 15-12, 5-15 and 11-7.
In double men open, Roland Keller and Conrrado Moscoso were left with the silver. In the final they faced the Mexicans Álvaro Beltrán and Rodrigo Montoya and lost by 15-13, 10-15 and 6-11.
In the junior category they won six gold medals with the Santa Cruz female player Micaela Meneses, in 14 and 16 years singles; and the Cochabambinos Mateo Claros, in 14 years singles; Claros and Luis Aguilar, in 14 years doubles; Diego García, in 16 years singles; and García himself with Roberto Arellano, in doubles 16 years.
In the challenger tournament, the golden medals came through Vladimir Siles, in seniors 35 years; and Jerry Riveros and Javier Vizcarra, in doubles 45 years.
