Bolivian democracy in peril, evo needs to finish his term and leave!

Relentlessly the coca grower caudillo advocates to remain in power ad-infinitum, and that is corruption!

The following cartoons are from today’s newspapers (10/11/2017):

From Pagina Siete:

Yesterday we celebrated 35 years of democracy in Bolivia. Thousands of people gathered in main plazas nationwide and repudiated the intention of evo to remain in power, despite the fact of being unconstitutional, illegitimate and after he said publicly that he was not going to run again …

From El Dia:

Here, it is evident that evo controls ALL State powers and thus, bends laws, accommodates results to his likings and that only means antidemocratic behavior just to remain in power?! The people said on the referendum that we no longer want him in power.

From Los Tiempos:

Here the question is: what would the masistas do if the opposition were to win elections?, would they remain forever, or would they complain … this shows clearly that the masismo interprets laws according to their particular preferences, clearly an undemocratic behavior!

El Diario:

This one shows the charade that his acolytes push to “justify” evo to continue in power, they understand they have control over the ballots and how votes could be counted.

He needs to go after he ends his term!

  1. Eco cannot leave this office of President because any new administration will uncover the web of corrupt activities carried out by him and his cronies and reveal the vast amounts of money accrued by him and his inner circle. Maybe the army should overthrow him with a promises of immediate return to democracy with elections within weeks not months or years.

    • TKS Graham por your insight. evo may not want but we the people are fed up with him! The best economic times in our history, under the worst, inept and corrupt government in our history! Over $160 billion dollars wasted in the last 11 years, where he has absolute control of ALL State powers.
Yesterday, Bolivians went out in the streets of all our main cities, to express our respect to democracy, 35 years are to preserve. Thus, we demand he completes his mandate and then leave for good!
I believe we do not need to repeat Venezuela’s ordeal. Instead we need to have a one giant coalition that could secure the 2019 presidential elections. That President, in turn, should have no more than three years to rebuild our nation, and then call for general elections, where there could be as many candidates that deem to implement rebuilding our country.
Fight against someone who has such control on our institutions, absolute power to continue to give bonuses, or print money, is a real and problematic adversary. And please, let’s not forget the liquidity that flushers our economy, cash liquidity from narcotrafficking and smuggling activities are the ones pumping our economy in a deceiving way. However, we Bolivians are fed up with this egomaniac and his ochlocracy!
