Five new varieties of wheat to be grown in Bolivia this 2015!

“This year 2015, will be the release of these varieties,” he said at the launch of the Public Presentation of INIAF’s 2014 Final Accounts Report.

Mercado said that four varieties will target traditional production sectors, in the departments of Cochabamba, Chuquisaca, Potosí and Tarija. Another variety is available to the region of Santa Cruz, he added. According to Mercado, one of the varieties was named 2014 INIAF material that features wide adaptability in different regions. The rest was called INIAF Cinteño, INIAF Yesera and INIAF Totora.

Now, the most important thing this government could do to boost agricultural production is to lift export quotas on all products!
