About the judicial “election” and their candidates in Santa Cruz

El Deber website posted this article last night: Today (10/12/11) was the day that the 74 aspiring candidates had to introduce themselves to the cruceno population. The setting was the Gilberto Parada Coliseum; to start at 11am. By noon only 20 of the 74 showed up; the public was also scarce which shows little interest on this event, the Electoral office in Santa Cruz, resented this absence.

Out of the 20 pre-selected people, some presented their proposals and other only read their resumes. It was reported that those candidates that were not present, will be “promoted” on the media, as it was happening for the previous weeks. It was also said that the absence was due to the lack of transportation from some districts; while others could not attend as they had no resources to go to the meeting.
