The protest-walk group will continue its way to La Paz. Many of the indigenous people have left San Borja and Rurrenabaque en route to the point of gathering along the road to continue marching; this point is past Yucumo where last week there was a settlers’ blockade. Past president for TIPNIS sub-central, Adolfo Moye said that between 20 and 50 people drove to Quiquibey or another town, border between La Paz and Beni.
The Beni Civic Committee continues with strike and road blockades in support of TIPNIS, said its President, David Coca. He also mentioned the intention to close down the Departmental Legislative Assembly, as they are viewed as co-responsible for the conflict escalation and that they did not react in time, according to their competences. Coca said the Committee is evaluating the possibility to call for an impeachment referendum against those Assembly members. Rurrenabaque has joined the civic strike, said its Mayor, Yerko Nunez. Indefinite strike started on Monday 26th; Trinidad, Santa Rosa, San Borja and other towns remain completely blocked.
