This cartoon appeared in El Diario (8/9/2011). You can see the “Mother Earth”, “environment” as “Pachamama” (the name that identifies Mother Nature in Quechua and/or Aymara). She is trying to stop current Bolivian president who is at its bottom with a chainsaw (labeled as road) and is in front of a large pushing coca growing farmers group; and many road vehicles. Her dress/shape tree form has the words “environment, TIPNIS, nature, ecosystem, biodiversity, natural reserve and patrimony”; behind her all the frightened wildlife. The stakeholders worldwide are beginning to notice this issue and wonder what will be the reaction of this government.
