    Sayaquira mine conflict continues

    As a follow-up on yesterday’s post, the police force is sending a group of 100 policemen to help control the conflict. It is reported that around 200 people from Ichoca community along with other people from the Fifth Section of the Inquisivi Province in La Paz, are still in the vicinity and conflict could escalate. Marcos Farfan, vice minister of the interior, instructed more police should go to reinforce the existing 40, so that they can protect Sayaquira’s normal mining operations.
