Mining and social unrest, another takeover

Amayapampa, a gold mine was taken over two weeks ago (Chayanta Province, Potosi). Today around 35 people took their offices in La Paz as well. This gold mine is not under operation as a result of the takeover. Miners request the President of Nueva Vista company to come to Bolivia to discuss re-opening the mine; and a salary increase among others demands. If demands are not met, the 280 miners will take possession, said Johnny Sangueza, General Secretary of the miners.

How could a President of a Company negotiate under duress? Here or elsewhere? The outcome at the end will be negative not only for that region but for the whole environment regarding foreign investment.
