National transport strike… starting Monday, June 20

The main union of public transport has gathered and agreed to go on a general “mobilized” (meaning blockades of streets and roads; hunger strikes, etc.) strike. This Confederation of Union Drivers of Bolivia (CSCHB) demands that Supreme Decree No. 890 be revoked. This decree states that as of year 2018, there should be no vehicles older than 12 years in service. At this time, Santa Cruz union said they will embrace the strike. Not only buses or taxis will go on strike but other types of public transport as well. So, unfortunately businesses, daily life will be affected; unless the government cancels this decree by Saturday. Tonight, two newspapers are reporting:
