We visited the website for the Inter American Development Bank, which states:
“Bolivia’s Operational Strategy
Fighting poverty is the main objective of the Bank’s strategy for Bolivia. The strategy is structured around three lines of activities:
- Improving the management capacity and transparency of the State by strengthening government institutions and supporting initiatives to increase transparency in the management of public resources and improve compliance with laws and adherence to standards;
- Supporting competitiveness and development of the private sector while protecting Bolivia’s environment and natural resources, through policy coordination and implementation, public-private sector partnerships, and reducing productive barriers for small and medium-sized export businesses;
- Enhancing efficiency and equity in basic social service delivery, with an emphasis on education, health, and sanitation projects that expand the reach of these services and improve their quality and cultural relevance. The strategy also includes activities to strengthen municipal government management capacity.”
