Nearby Apacheta, a small town in the road between La Paz and Oruro, an estimated five thousand rural teachers were blocking the road. An estimated five hundred policemen were sent there to clear the road. Around noon today they were fighting for the control of the road. This road is the only link with the cities of Cochabamba and Santa Cruz with La Paz.
