Jorge Santistevan, the Santa Cruz Departmental Secretary for Citizen Security, stated that the arrest of former Government Minister Eduardo Del Castillo has been confirmed and argued that other former officials should also be investigated for their possible links to the actions attributed to the former minister.

The Departmental Secretary for Citizen Security of the Santa Cruz Governor’s Office, Jorge Santistevan, confirmed reports of the arrest of former Government Minister Eduardo Del Castillo amid ongoing operations following recent questions and allegations related to the Sebastián Marset case.

“Likewise,” Santistevan replied when asked whether he had confirmation of the former authority’s arrest.

Santistevan Describes It as a “Raid Against Organized Crime”

The departmental official said that the operations are reportedly being carried out by national-level intelligence systemsand considered the recent arrests to be part of an effort targeting structures linked to organized crime.

“National intelligence systems are precisely the ones in charge of these operations,” he stated.

Santistevan added that the Santa Cruz Governor’s Office is monitoring these developments and expressed its willingness to support, within its jurisdiction, the actions of national authorities against crime and organized criminal organizations.
