Preliminary voting results are expected to be known starting at 9:00 p.m.

Fuente Directa reported that the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) guarantees the reliability of the Preliminary Electoral Results System (Sirepre), which will allow the first results to be released at the end of voting day this Sunday, March 22, within the framework of the 2026 Subnational Elections.

The president of the TSE, Gustavo Ávila, stated in recent days that the system underwent two simulations that demonstrated its ability to handle high volumes in the transmission of tally sheets.

“We have carried out two Sirepre simulations. The system has responded very well to heavy loads during the transmission of tally sheets. Therefore, we are confident that the system will function at 100%,” he assured.

He emphasized that Sirepre will allow information to be disseminated quickly and transparently, as occurred in the 2025 general elections, where he stressed that the system provided confidence to the population.

“Remember the last electoral process: SIREPRE was synonymous with guarantee and trust, and it will be so again in this process,” he emphasized.

GOVERNORSHIPS AND CAPITAL CITIES Ávila added that, today, preliminary results are expected for candidates in the nine governorships and the mayoral offices of the capital cities.

The TSE president urged citizens, as well as electoral jurors, to arrive early at polling stations.

“We urge the population to go to the polls starting at eight in the morning. This will allow polling stations to close earlier, speed up the count, and facilitate the transmission of tally sheets, which will help us reach preliminary results close to 90% by 9:00 p.m.,” he explained.

The preliminary results will be published through the official website of the Electoral Body (www.oep.org.bo), which is publicly accessible, where citizens will be able to continuously follow data updates during and after election day.

“Sirepre is strictly informative and non-binding in nature, and its purpose is to provide citizens with timely access to preliminary results, in addition to helping strengthen confidence in the electoral process.”

COUNTING CENTER The location where the Counting Center was set up in Cochabamba is the Hotel Regina Resort, in the municipality of Tiquipaya.

In previous days, the Departmental Electoral Tribunal (TED) of Cochabamba carried out a vote-count simulation as part of the activities prior to this Sunday’s election day, with the aim of ensuring a transparent and efficient process.

The president of the TED of Cochabamba, Daniel Quinteros Meneses, stated that this activity demonstrated that the institution is fully prepared for voting day.

During the exercise, the entire departmental and municipal counting procedure was replicated, from the opening of envelopes, digitization of tally sheets, data transcription, quality controls, and review by the board members, including the evaluation of possible grounds for nullification.

Quinteros highlighted that it is “an effective and fully transparent procedure.”

He also underscored the participation of delegates from political organizations, observers, and media outlets, who were able to verify the development of the process.
