This Sunday, March 22, subnational elections will be held throughout the entire country, and the National Meteorology and Hydrology Service (Senamhi) reported on weather conditions in several regions.

In the city of La Paz, the outlook will be complicated due to expected rainfall during the early morning and the afternoon on Sunday.

We expect cloudy skies in the morning and rain accompanied by thunderstorms in the afternoon, especially in central La Paz, and hail is not ruled out,” said forecaster Gilda Mamani.

A similar situation is expected in the departments of Tarija and Chuquisaca, where “significant rainfall” is forecast.

In eastern Bolivia we will also have this atmospheric instability, and in the western regions hail is not ruled out over the weekend,” she explained.

Additionally, in the department of Santa Cruz, mainly in the integrated northern zone, a weather advisory is in effect for moderate winds starting Saturday and lasting through Monday.

“We have a weather advisory for moderate winds that could reach between 60 and 90 kilometers per hour,” Mamani noted.

The forecaster did not rule out that the rains could cause rivers to rise in the mentioned regions, so Senamhi recommended taking precautions.
