The site Numbeo indicates that the cost of living index combined with rent in Bolivia is 18.98.

According to data from Numbeo, Bolivia ranks in 2026 as the cheapest country in South America to live in, with a cost of living plus rent index of 18.98.

The indicator, which combines prices of basic goods and services with rental costs, allows a direct comparison between regional economies, adds a publication from Forbes Paraguay.

Within that framework, Bolivia remains below significantly larger markets such as Paraguay with 20.30, Brazil with 20.50, and Ecuador with 21.00, and far below economies with greater price pressures such as Argentina with 28.29, Chilewith 26.77, and Uruguay with 37.32.

According to Forbes, Bolivia leads the regional ranking with an index of 18.98, while Paraguay consolidates its position immediately afterward.

Finally, further behind appear Peru with 23.62 and Venezuela with 24.02, followed by Chile and Argentina, countries where the combined cost of living and rent already moves away from the levels observed in the Bolivia–Paraguay–Brazil axis. The Uruguayan case stands out as the most expensive in South America, with an index of 37.32.
