The Government of Santa Cruz recognizes Alejandra Castillo’s election as World President of Junior Chamber International as historic

Youth.– Castillo will assume the world presidency in 2026, leading a global network of more than 150,000 active young people in 117 countries.

The Youth Directorate of the Autonomous Departmental Government of Santa Cruz expressed its pride and support following the election of Alejandra Castillo as president-elect of the Junior Chamber International (JCI), in a historic milestone for Bolivia and Latin America. The departmental government aims to strengthen youth leadership through this outstanding global representation.

Erwin Luca, director of Youth, stated: “We are honored to introduce our world president of JCI, who has just been elected at the global level. It should be noted that the organization has representation in more than 110 countries; she is the fifth woman elected as president and the first Latin American. For young people, this is a great historic moment.” He added that the Governor’s Office, through the Youth Directorate, is committed to “continuing to grow in the development of youth” based on this achievement.

For her part, Jhustine Claros, president of the Departmental Youth Council, also emphasized the importance of this milestone for local youth. “For us, it is a source of pride for Santa Cruz and for young people that Alejandra is the president of an honorable organization with more than 100 years of history. We have prepared a commitment letter for her to sign so that she may be our highest representative within JCI,” she noted.

“Bolivia will raise its flag for the first time in 110 years on November 18 at the world headquarters in the United States, after 70 years of efforts by many young Bolivians and people from Santa Cruz,” said Alejandra Castillo, who will assume the world presidency in 2026, leading a global network with more than 150,000 active young members in 117 countries.

Castillo envisions a leadership focused on opportunities for young entrepreneurs, personal development, and a major global event on sustainability proposed for September, the month in which JCI calls on its more than 150,000 members to work on projects that positively impact the planet. The Government of Santa Cruz, through the Youth Directorate, views this election as a symbol of inspiration and international presence for Bolivia, and a call to strengthen youth representation that motivates new generations to participate in global leadership networks.

This election strengthens Bolivia’s image on the international stage and amplifies the voice and leadership of young people from Santa Cruz in a global setting, reaffirming that the future of youth lies in capable and committed hands, affirmed the 2026 World President of Junior Chamber International.
