“We cannot continue resorting to victimization without evidence or turning to the media or social networks with unfounded allegations,” said Rodrigo Antonio Loma, elected congressman for La Paz and Libre’s political delegate.

“After the commitment assumed in Santa Cruz, it is essential that political actors act responsibly in their statements. We cannot continue resorting to victimization without evidence or turning to the media or social networks with unfounded allegations,” affirmed Rodrigo Antonio Loma, elected deputy for La Paz and political delegate of the Libertad y Democracia (Libre) alliance.

With those words, Loma announced that this political front will file legal actions before the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE), demanding that the Christian Democratic Party (PDC) provide documentation supporting its accusations about an alleged “dirty war” attributed to the ticket of Jorge Tuto Quiroga and Juan Pablo Velasco. The party led by Rodrigo Paz and Edman Lara has not yet commented on the matter.

The elected deputy assured that Libre will go this Monday to the TSE to present a petition requesting that the Christian Democratic Party (PDC) hand over the documents supporting the accusations made by its spokesperson, Fabián Ochoa, according to the Erbol network.

He indicated that this initiative falls within the agreement signed in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, as well as within the Electoral Propaganda and Campaign Regulations, which aim to prevent hate speech, negative campaigning, and the spread of disinformation during the electoral process.

According to Loma, the agreement also urges political leaders, media outlets, and opinion makers not to spread false information or hate speech, a task that will be monitored by the Intercultural Service for Democratic Strengthening (SIFDE), in accordance with Article 6 of the aforementioned regulation.

He regretted that the PDC, despite having signed the agreement, allowed its spokesperson to make accusations that could even be classified as crimes under the Penal Code. “It is important that these accusations be clarified with evidence,” he stated.

On Wednesday, after the meeting for democracy organized by the TSE, the candidates of the PDC and Libre committed to participating in the second round, avoiding disinformation campaigns and dirty war tactics. They also agreed to attend the debates for the offices of president and vice president.

According to point 5 of the signed agreement, political organizations, their candidates, and supporters “commit to participating in the second round of the 2025 General Elections within the legal and regulatory framework, avoiding engaging in disinformation campaigns and other practices considered as dirty war.”
