Bolivian companies join forces to meet international market standards

Businesspeople showcase the product that will be exported to the United States

Following the opportunity offered by the U.S. market to Bolivian products, national companies have joined forces to meet the northern country’s requirements and deliver their product according to global standards. Delizia Foods, La Papelera, 21grscompany, and Grupo Empresarial Sagitario formed an alliance to bring Bolivian coffee to U.S. consumers in full compliance with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations.

In this regard, Eduardo Iriarte, president of the Departmental Chamber of Industries of La Paz (Cadinpaz), highlighted the alliance of Bolivian companies to make the export of coffee to the U.S. market a reality, noting that the agreement also reduces costs.

Felipe Vera, representative of Delizia Foods, stated that due to the significant number of Latinos in the United States, there is a demand for products from the region, such as Bolivia. That is why they established a company in the U.S. to initially supply coffee.

He clarified that the sales were made possible thanks to the alliance formed with 21grscompany, which supplies the product.

Roger Quiroga, representative of 21gramos, said that along the way they held many meetings with Bolivian companies to obtain two inputs that were generally imported.

One was with La Papelera, which designs the bags, and the other with Grupo Empresarial Sagitario for the packaging design. These items were generally imported from China and India, but are now produced in Bolivia.

The innovative packaging significantly reduces export costs and preserves the quality of the beans, meeting the technical requirements of international buyers, according to the National Chamber of Industries (CNI).

He revealed that 15 tons of coffee will be shipped to the United States next week, and that markets in Argentina, Chile, and Paraguay have also shown interest in the Bolivian product. The merchandise is valued at around $120,000.

In this context, the National Chamber of Industries and the Departmental Chamber of Industries of La Paz support the strategic alliance between 21grscompany and Delizia Foods.

The alliance between the two companies promotes Bolivia’s leadership in exporting roasted coffee with added value, as well as a commitment to sustainable domestic production.

The initiative will enable the internationalization of Bolivian coffee by consolidating roasted coffee exports to the U.S. market. This achievement represents not only commercial progress, but also an example of innovation and industrial development made 100% in Bolivia.

To meet the highest international standards, both companies developed specialized packaging that complies with international regulations and has been approved by the FDA. These were designed and produced in partnership with Grupo Empresarial Sagitario, thus promoting competitive global market solutions based on national production.

Within this framework, a new 30 kg bag for exporting green coffee beans was presented, made with recycled paper produced by La Papelera S.A., another Bolivian player committed to logistics efficiency and domestic production.

This expansion phase into new markets aims to bring Bolivian coffee soon to other countries in Europe, Asia, and Latin America, strengthening the national coffee value chain and creating greater opportunities for local producers.
