The Cruceñista Youth Union issued a statement this week denouncing the raids to arrest citizens who are leading the mobilizations demanding the release of Governor Luis Fernando Camacho.
The pronouncement indicates that the Bolivian Police carry out operations with the purpose of “incriminating” those who lead the protests and asks that the population be alert to new “kidnappings”, as happened with the departmental authority.
“The Cruceñista Youth Union categorically rejects the raids being carried out by law enforcement against citizens of Santa Cruz, in order to incriminate them in the protests in defense of freedom and respect for Santa Cruz,” the document indicates.
He asks that those who are victims or witnesses of these violations of rights can record and denounce, and “as far as possible take care of ourselves and defend ourselves”, in time to reaffirm that they will continue with the demonstrations.
The notice:
“Stop persecuting those of us who are protesting to demand the restoration of the rule of law. We are not going to get tired,” said the vice-rector of the Gabriel René Moreno Autonomous University (UAGRM), Reinerio Vargas.
Santa Cruz persists in the conflict that began on December 28, with the arrest of Camacho and his transfer to La Paz, where he remains detained for almost three weeks in the Chonchocoro maximum security prison.

La Unión Juvenil Cruceñista emitió esta semana un comunicado en el que denuncia la realización de allanamientos para detener a ciudadanos que protagonizan las movilizaciones que exigen la liberación del gobernador Luis Fernando Camacho.
El pronunciamiento indica que la Policía Boliviana realiza operativos con la finalidad de “incriminar” a quienes conducen las protestas y pide que la población esté alerta ante nuevos “secuestros”, como sucedió con la autoridad departamental.
“La Unión Juveni Cruceñista rechaza rotundamente los allanamientos que están realizando las fuerzas del orden contra ciudadanos cruceños, con el fin de incriminarlos en las protestas en defensa de la libertad y el respeto para Santa Cruz”, indica el documento.
Pide que quienes sean víctimas o testigos de esas vulneraciones a los derechos puedan grabar y denunciar, y “en lo posible cuidarnos y defendernos entre nosotros”, a tiempo de reafirmar que continuarán con las manifestaciones.

“Dejen de perseguir a quienes estamos protestando para exigir la restitución del estado de derecho. No nos vamos a cansar”, indicó al respecto el vicerrector de la Universidad Autónoma Gabriel René Moreno (UAGRM), Reinerio Vargas.
Santa Cruz persiste en el conflicto iniciado el 28 de diciembre, con la detención de Camacho y su traslado a La Paz, donde permanece detenido casi tres semanas en la cárcel de máxima seguridad de Chonchocoro.
