Calvo to Arce: “Bolivia has woken up and is going to defend its democracy at all costs”
This Thursday different marches and protest activities are taking place in the department to demand the release of the governor from Santa Cruz. The demands of the population also call for respect for justice and democracy.
“Brave people, because we have always ignited the spark of Bolivia’s struggle,” Rómulo Calvo began his speech. This Thursday afternoon, the civic president accompanied the family of Luis Fernando Camacho in the 24 de Septiembre square.
A crowd went to the square to sign a book and adhere as a witness to the events of 2019 to the cause that is being carried out against the governor. In this way, they demand the release of Camacho.
“You will never see his family kneeling!” Luis Fernando Camacho Parada, son of the governor, expressed vehemently in time to thank the people who signed the books. “The governor of Santa Cruz is a political prisoner of the Movimiento Al Socialismo and of the dictatorship that reigns in Bolivia,” added the young son of the departmental authority, who was there with his brothers.
Calvo, for his part, questioned the “kidnapping of the first authority that each of us chose,” in reference to Governor Luis Fernando Camacho. He called on the rest of the country to resume mobilizations for justice and criticized the actions of judges and prosecutors, but also of the Police.
“All the prosecutors, all the judges are criminals because they trample on and run over the population; We have a Police that has left the olive green and has put on the blue of a MAS militant,” said the civic.
Calvo harangued the citizens who were in the 24 de Septiembre square, to continue with the demonstrations. “We are going to be in the streets until the rule of law is respected, that the Political Constitution of the State is respected, that the people of Santa Cruz are respected, that Bolivians are respected”
“Mr. Arce Catacora, your calculations are wrong. Bolivia has woken up and is going to defend its democracy at all costs,” Calvo said.
In addition, he thanked the other departments for the demonstrations in favor of democracy and the freedom of Camacho. Finally, he called for unity, not only of the department but of the country.
For her part, Assemblywoman Paola Aguirre referred to the strength and courage of the people of Santa Cruz.
“Citizens who have come voluntarily to raise our voice against that oppressive and abusive regime that uses a servile justice to take revenge, to wipe the face of those cowards who fled; and they feel envy because in Santa Cruz, their leaders do not flee or hide, they show their faces and their chests, and that is what our governor has done,” said the departmental legislator.
She announced that the books that were in the Plaza 24 de Septiembre this Thursday will reach the provinces of Santa Cruz, but also the rest of the country.
“All these Santa Cruz people and Bolivians who are putting their signature on this memorial are identifying themselves with their first and last names to tell that servile justice: ‘I was also part of the 21 days; I also want to testify. Because what the MAS intends to do is change the historical truth of the facts, and even if it hurts them: what happened in 2019 was not a coup, it was fraud”, emphasized the assemblywoman.
The public response was immediate; she loudly chanted: “There was fraud, it was not a coup.”
Calvo a Arce: “Bolivia ha despertado y va a defender su democracia cueste lo que cueste”
Este jueves distintas marchas y actividades de protesta se desarrollan en el departamento para pedir la liberación del gobernador cruceño. Las demandas de la población también claman por el respeto a la justicia y la democracia.
“Pueblo valiente, porque ya hemos encendido siempre la chispa de la lucha de Bolivia”, empezó su discurso Rómulo Calvo. La tarde de este jueves, el presidente cívico acompañó a la familia de Luis Fernando Camacho en la plaza 24 de Septiembre.
Una multitud acudió a la plaza para firmar un libro y adherirse en calidad de testigo de los hechos de 2019 a la causa que se lleva adelante contra el gobernador. De esta manera, exigen la liberación de Camacho.
“A su familia, ¡no la van a ver arrodillada nunca!”, expresó vehemente Luis Fernando Camacho Parada, hijo del gobernador a tiempo de agradecer a la población que firma los libros. “El gobernador de Santa Cruz es un preso político del Movimiento Al Socialismo y de la dictadura que reina en Bolivia”, añadió el joven hijo de la autoridad departamental, que estuvo en el lugar junto a sus hermanos.
Calvo, por su parte cuestionó el “secuestro de la primera autoridad que cada uno de nosotros eligió”, en referencia al gobernador Luis Fernando Camacho. Hizo un llamado al resto del país para retomar las movilizaciones por la justicia y criticó el accionar de jueces y fiscales, pero también de la Policía.
“Todos los fiscales, todos los jueces son unos delincuentes porque pisotean y atropellan a la población; tenemos una Policía que ha dejado el verde olivo y se ha puesto el azul de militante del MAS”, manifestó el cívico.
Calvo arengó a los ciudadanos que se encontraban en la plaza 24 de Septiembre, a continuar con las manifestaciones. “Vamos a estar en las calles hasta que se respete el estado de derecho, que se respete la Constitución Política del Estado, que se respete a los cruceños, que se respete los bolivianos”
“Señor Arce Catacora sus cálculos están equivocados. Bolivia ha despertado y va a defender su democracia cueste lo que cueste”, sostuvo Calvo.
Además, agradeció a los otros departamentos por las manifestaciones en favor de la democracia y la libertad de Camacho. Finalmente, llamó a la unidad, no solo del departamento sino del país.
Por su parte, la asambleísta Paola Aguirre se refirió a la fuerza y la valentía de los cruceños.
“Ciudadanos que han venido voluntariamente para elevar nuestra voz contra ese régimen opresor y abusivo que utiliza a una justicia servil para tomar venganza, para limpiarle la cara a esos cobardes que huyeron; y sienten envidia porque en Santa Cruz, sus líderes no huyen ni se esconden, dan la cara y el pecho, y eso es lo que ha hecho nuestro gobernador”, expresó la legisladora departamental.
Anunció que los libros que estuvieron este jueves en la plaza 24 de Septiembre llegarán a las provincias cruceñas, pero también al resto del país.
“Todos estos cruceños y bolivianos que están estampando su firma en este memorial están identificándose con nombre y apellido para decirle a esa justicia servil: ‘yo también fui parte de los 21 días; yo también quiero declarar’. Porque lo que el MAS pretende hacer es cambiar la verdad histórica de los hechos, y aunque a ellos les duela: lo que hubo el 2019 no fue golpe, fue fraude”, enfatizó la asambleísta.
La respuesta del público fue inmediata; a voz en cuello coreó: “Hubo fraude, no fue golpe”.
