Bolivian wood seeks to captivate foreign capital in forestry business conference
Next Friday [04/08/2022], the International Forestry Industry Business Roundtable will be held on the Fexpocruz premises and within the framework of Expoforest 2022. Companies from the United States, Italy, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Ecuador, Peru and Argentina confirmed their participation. The objective is to generate contacts and business with Bolivian companies to strengthen the timber trade.
Wood producers, sawmills, flooring, door and furniture industries, and the forestry machinery industry, among other items, will participate in the event, reported Jorge Avila, General Manager of the Bolivian Forestry Chamber (CFB), an institution that annually conducts this international event at the Santa Cruz Exhibition Fair.
The Business Roundtable is a commercial showcase for the forestry sector that shows the world the products, industrialization, and environmental work, in addition to those derived from Bolivian wood. For the first time it will be held in two modalities, face-to-face and virtual, for which an interactive room is being prepared with the necessary technological conditions.
The last Business Roundtable was held in 2019, achieving good results, reaching goals in more than 400 appointments and 12.6 million dollars in business intentions. Due to health issues related to the coronavirus pandemic, the event was not held for two years.
Avila indicated that there is already confirmation from eight countries and the participation of more than 50 entrepreneurs who will seek to do business in their field. He highlighted that the Conference will take place during the Journey on Friday, April 8, from 08:30 to 17:30.
Avila added that the forestry sector is undergoing a significant economic recovery, with expectations of exceeding the numbers of previous years, and that the Comprehensive Forest Fair and the Business Roundtable will strengthen and confirm this growth.

El próximo viernes [08/04/2022] se llevará a cabo la Rueda Internacional de Negocios de la Industria Forestal en los predios de la Fexpocruz y en el marco de la Expoforest 2022. Empresas de Estados Unidos, Italia, Brasil, México, Chile, Ecuador, Perú y Argentina confirmaron su participación. El objetivo es generar contactos y negocios con empresas bolivianas para fortalecer el comercio maderero.
En el evento participarán productores de madera, aserraderos, Industrias de pisos, puertas, muebles, y la industria de las maquinarias forestales, entre otros rubros, informó Jorge Avila, Gerente General de la Cámara Forestal de Bolivia (CFB), institución que anualmente realiza este evento internacional en la Feria Exposición de Santa Cruz.\
La Rueda de Negocios es una vitrina comercial del sector forestal que muestra al mundo los pro-ductos, industrialización, y trabajo ambiental, además de los derivados de la madera boliviana. Por primera vez se realizará en dos modalidades, presencial y virtual, para ello se está preparan-do una sala interactiva con las condiciones tecnológicas necesarias.
La última Rueda de Negocios se realizó el 2019, logrando buenos resultados, alcanzando metas en más de 400 citas y 12,6 millones de dólares en intenciones de negocios. Por cuestiones sanitarias de la pandemia del coronavirus, el evento no se realizó durante dos años.
Avila indicó que ya se tiene la confirmación de ocho países y la participación de más de 50 empre-sarios que buscarán concretar negocios en su rubro. Destacó que la Rueda se realizará durante la Jornada del viernes 8 de abril, a partir de las 08:30 hasta las 17:30.
Avila agregó que el sector forestal se encuentra en un repunte económico importante, con expectativas de superar los números de años anteriores, y que la Feria Integral del Bosque y la Rueda de Negocios fortalecerá y confirmará este crecimiento.
