Cholitas climbers go to the top of Sajama
Three cholitas climbers from the Maya organization began a journey to bring a message of empowerment to women. Dora Magueño, 56, Ana Lía Magueño and Flora Chura left the city of La Paz for the town of Sajama. There they had a picnic and later they got ready to climb the mountain that they know as Doctor Sajama.
The message that they carry up to 6,542 meters above sea level, to one of the highest mountains in Bolivia, will be their rejection of any type of violence, promoting good nutrition and also caring for the environment. The journey will last four days and guides of great experience, such as Agustín Gonzales, will lead the climb of the cholitas that will add another feat in their trajectory.
Cholitas escaladoras van hacia la cima del Sajama
Tres cholitas escaladoras de la organización Maya iniciaron una travesía para llevar un mensaje de empoderamiento a las mujeres. Dora Magueño, de 56 años, Ana Lía Magueño y Flora Chura partieron de la ciudad de La Paz hacia el pueblo de Sajama. Allí merendaron y después se alistaron para subir a la montaña que conocen con el nombre de Doctor Sajama.
El mensaje que llevan hasta los 6.542 msnm, a una de las montañas de mayor altitud de Bolivia, será su rechazo a cualquier tipo de violencia, fomentar la buena alimentación y también el cuidado del medioambiente. La travesía será de cuatro días y guías de gran trayectoria, como Agustín Gonzales, liderarán la escalada de las cholitas que sumarán otra hazaña en su trayectoria.
