Human Rights Watch about Amparo Carvajal
The director of the Americas Division of Human Rights Watch (HRW), José Miguel Vivanco, expressed his concern about the threats that were issued in recent days by the warrior army “Wila Lluch’us” (red caps), in the sense to burn down the house of the president of the Apdhb, Amparo Carvajal, and of the opposition politicians.
“Very worrying are the threats published on social networks to set fire to the house of Amparo Carvajal, @APDHLP_La Paz and to burn opposition politicians. The government of @LuchoXBolivia must guarantee the safety of these people and their homes,” Vivanco wrote on his Twitter account.
The Guerrero army “Wila Lluch’us”, which campaigned for the MAS for the sub-national elections in March, released in recent days a series of videos in which they threaten to burn Carvajal’s house, because they question her position regarding former president Jeanine Añez, who they said “rot in jail.”
In those videos, this group threatened to burn Carvajal’s house, due to the position it took in favor of “right” politicians.
This group also threatened to burn down the homes of opposition politicians such as Carlos Mesa and Jorge Quiroga, among others.
The former president and president of MAS, Evo Morales, rushed on Monday to clarify that the “Wila Lluch’us” do not belong to that political organization.
The Minister of Government, Eduardo del Castillo, played down the importance of this group and assured that it does not exist in the country. Regarding the videos released, he indicated that they were manipulated with the aim of “generating some kind of political effect.” (Brújula Digital)

El director de la División de las Américas de Human Rights Watch (HRW), José Miguel Vivanco, expresó su preocupación por las amenazas que fueron emitidas en los últimos días por el ejército guerrero “Wila Lluch’us” (gorros rojos), en sentido de quemar la casa de la presidenta de la Apdhb, Amparo Carvajal, y de los políticos de oposición.
“Muy preocupantes las amenazas publicadas en redes sociales de incendiar la casa de Amparo Carvajal, la @APDHLP_La Paz y quemar a políticos de oposición. El gobierno de @LuchoXBolivia debe garantizar la seguridad de esas personas y sus viviendas”, escribió Vivanco en su cuenta de Twitter.
El ejército Guerrero “Wila Lluch’us”, que hizo campaña electoral para el MAS para los comicios subnacionales de marzo, difundió en los últimos días una serie de videos en los que amenazan con quemar la casa de Carvajal, debido a que cuestionan su posición respecto a la expresidenta Jeanine Añez, de quien dijeron que “se pudra en la cárcel”.
En esos videos, esta agrupación amenazó con quemar la casa de Carvajal, debido a la postura que asumió a favor de políticos de “derecha”.
Esta agrupación también amenazó con incendiar las viviendas de políticos de oposición como Carlos Mesa y Jorge Quiroga, entre otros.
El expresidente y presidente del MAS, Evo Morales, se apresuró el lunes en aclarar que los “Wila Lluch’us” no pertenecen a esa organización política.
El ministro de Gobierno, Eduardo del Castillo, restó importancia a dicha agrupación y aseguró que no existe en el país. Respecto a los videos difundidos, indicó que estos fueron manipulados con el objetivo de “generar algún tipo de efecto político”. (Brújula Digital)
