On the morning of this Thursday, an anteater was returned to its natural habitat that was rescued when it tried to escape the forest fire in the Naranjos community (Roboré). The release was carried out after complying with medical treatments carried out in a temporary shelter installed in the area.
According to a statement from the Government of Santa Cruz, the anteater did not suffer burns, it only showed signs of dehydration and after stabilizing it, they decided to return it to a wooded area of San José de Chiquitos.
The Santa Cruz Government installed a temporary shelter in Roboré to house the animals that escape the fire or that are victims of the fire that plagues Chiquitania. To the site, the authorities have displaced specialists, food and veterinary medical supplies to treat the animals that are rescued.
A brigade of professionals made up of veterinarians, biologists and rescue personnel, are in charge of providing assistance to the rescued animals and, to them, a brigade of professionals from Yvaga Guazú was added who will help in the relays.
The fire advances
Forest fires continue to rise and today there are seven in six municipalities of Santa Cruz. The fire has advanced to San Ignacio (1), Roboré (1), San Matías (2), Puerto Suárez (1) and Carmen Rivero Torrez (2).
“The fire that was in San Matías has reached San José, the Governorate is in preparation with brigades of fire instructors who will be displaced at the request of the municipalities,” said Yovenka Rosado, head of the Fire Department of the Governorate.

La mañana de este jueves fue devuelta a su hábitat natural una osa hormiguera que fue rescatada cuando intentaba escapar del incendio forestal en la comunidad Naranjos (Roboré). La liberación fue realizada tras cumplir con tratamientos médicos realizados en un refugio temporal instalado en la zona.
De acuerdo con un comunicado de la Gobernación de Santa Cruz, la osa hormiguera no sufrió quemaduras, solo presentaba cuadros de deshidratación y tras estabilizarla decidieron devolverla en una zona boscosa de San José de Chiquitos.
La Gobernación cruceña instaló en Roboré un refugio temporal para albergar a los animales que escapan del fuego o que son víctimas del incendio que azota a la Chiquitania. Hasta el lugar, las autoridades han desplazado especialistas, alimento e insumos médicos veterinarios para tratar a los animales que sean rescatados.
Una brigada de profesionales conformada por veterinarios, biólogos y personal de rescate, son los encargados de brindar la asistencia a los animales rescatados y, a ellos, se sumó una brigada de profesionales de Yvaga Guazú que ayudarán en los relevos.
El fuego avanza
Los incendios forestales continúan en ascenso y hoy se registran siete en seis municipios cruceños. El fuego ha avanzado a San Ignacio (1), Roboré (1), San Matías (2), Puerto Suárez (1) y Carmen Rivero Torrez (2).
“El incendio que estaba en San Matías ha llegado a San José, la Gobernación está en apronte con brigadas de instructores de bomberos que serán desplazados a requerimiento de los municipios”, manifestó Yovenka Rosado, jefe de la Unidad de Bomberos de la Gobernación.
