Concert dedicated to Ennio Morricone

The Philharmonic Orchestra of Santa Cruz de la Sierra is constantly reinventing itself, or as its director Isaac Terceros says, it explores new paths that allow it to remain connected with its audience. For this reason, it is not strange to know that next Saturday, May 29, at 9:00 p.m., he will present his virtual concert: Movie Music, Ennio Morricone.
“Since 2020, we have been wanting a tribute to Morricone (1928 -2020), to this outstanding composer, who marked an era not only for cinema, but also for music… But we had to suspend it and it remained as a pending wish. . Now, in 2021, from another dimension, from another perspective, we have made a production in which the instruments stand out and we value nature and environments that lead us to the western music genre,”explained Terceros.
The concert will last 45 minutes, during which you will be able to listen to the most famous Italian songs, such as “The Mission,” “Once upon a time in America,” “The good, the bad and the ugly,” “The Godfather” or “Cinema Paradiso.” Each of the songs has been recorded in emblematic settings of Santa Cruz, from Espejillos, through Las Lomas de Arena to the Museum of History.
“Due to the pandemic, the orchestra and the choir have not been able to meet and what we have done is subdivide them into groups. That is, we will not listen to the entire orchestra, as we were used to, but we will be able to listen to the instruments more closely. For example, a string quartet, a wood quintet, a duel of electric guitars, the participation of novel instruments such as the ocarina or the melodica, songs that will allow the participation of soloists and an ensemble of the choir,” details the director .
This first virtual presentation also marks the premiere of the Philharmonic portal: https://filarmonicasantacruz.com, which will allow you not only to broadcast concerts, but also workshops and conferences. To do this, you must first complete a registration, then you will receive a notification via WhatsApp with a link to enjoy the concert. Cost? It is free and the public is invited to make donations, through a QR Code, that allow the work of the Santa Cruz Philharmonic to continue.
For Isaac Terceros, this experience fully meets the objectives set to celebrate his five years. “As our ideals say: delighting, inspiring and transcending, always for the benefit of Santa Cruz, the city, families, Bolivia and, through digital media, for the whole world.”

La Orquesta Filarmónica de Santa Cruz de la Sierra se reinventa constantemente, o como dice su director Isaac Terceros explora nuevos caminos que le permita seguir conectado con su audiencia. Por eso, no es extraño saber que el próximo sábado 29 de mayo, a las 21.00, presentará su concierto virtual: Música de Película, Ennio Morricone.
“Desde 2020, hemos estado deseando un homenaje a Morricone (1928 -2020), a este compositor tan destacado, que marcó una época no solo para el cine, sino también para la música… Pero tuvimos que suspenderlo y nos quedó como un deseo pendiente. Ahora, en 2021, desde otra dimensión, desde otra perspectiva, hemos realizado una producción en la que destacan los instrumentos y valorizamos la naturaleza y ambientes que nos llevan al género de la música western”, explicó Terceros.
El concierto durará 45 minutos, a lo largo de los cuales se podrá escuchar las canciones más famosas del italiano, como “La Misión”, “Érase una vez en América”, “El bueno, el malo y el feo”, “El Padrino” o “Cinema Paradiso”. Cada uno de los temas ha sido grabado en escenarios emblemáticos de Santa Cruz, desde Espejillos, pasando por Las Lomas de Arena hasta el Museo de Historia.
“Por la pandemia, la orquesta y el coro no han podido reunirse y lo que hemos hecho es subdividirlos en grupos. Es decir, no vamos a escuchar la orquesta completa, como estábamos acostumbrados, pero sí podremos escuchar los instrumentos de manera más cercana. Por ejemplo, un cuarteto de cuerdas, un quinteto de maderas, un duelo de guitarras eléctricas, la participación de instrumentos novedosos como la ocarina o la melódica, canciones que van a permitir la participación de solistas y un ensamble del coro”, detalla el director.
Esta primera presentación virtual también marca el estreno del portal de la Filarmónica: https://filarmonicasantacruz.com, que le permitirá no solo transmitir conciertos, sino también talleres y conferencias. Para ello, previamente, se deberá completar un registro, luego se recibirá una notificación vía WhatsApp con un enlace para disfrutar del concierto. ¿Costo? Es gratuito y se invita al público a realizar donaciones, a través de un Código QR, que permitan continuar con el trabajo de la Filarmónica cruceña.
