Government accuses Evo and MAS groups of being behind the attacks on police in the Chapare

They reject the humiliation to which Bolivian Police officers were subjected. The government blamed MAS militants, cocalero leaders, municipal authorities and Evo Morales on Friday for rejecting the return of the uniformed to the Chapare in Cochabamba.
In a joint press conference, the Ministers of Government and Defense, Arturo Murillo and Fernando López, anticipated legal actions against those who promote violence and break the quarantine that governs to avoid contagions with Covid-19.
“We are going to continue working on joint patrols. The masistas and cocalero leaders, seek confrontation. We will not go to the confrontation, we will not play that game, we are from the culture of life, not death,” said Murillo.
He assured that “he has no doubt” that behind those actions is former President Evo Morales. “He feeds on death. In a recording he said to kill, to fence, to starve, that is the culture that this man has,” he said.
In turn, López said that they are “outraged” by the treatment that some groups gave to the police. “We are from the culture of dialogue and in the face of this belligerent, malicious attitude, the answer they will have is to continue worrying about the health of Bolivians (…) Violence is not going to be liked, we are going to continue on the road of peace,” he asserted.
On the eve, residents attacked and expelled the police from Villa Tunari, Shinaota and Chimoré. The leader of the Federation of Trade Unions of Peasant Workers, Omar Claros, said that the police would be given 24 hours to leave that area.

Rechazan la humillación a la que fueron sometidos efectivos de la Policía Boliviana. El Gobierno responsabilizó este viernes a militantes del MAS, dirigentes cocaleros, autoridades municipales y a Evo Morales por el rechazo al retorno de uniformados al Chapare en Cochabamba.
En conferencia de prensa conjunta, los ministros de Gobierno y Defensa, Arturo Murillo y Fernando López, anticiparon acciones legales contra quienes promueven la violencia y rompen la cuarentena que rige para evitar contagios con Covid-19.
“Vamos a seguir trabajando en patrullas conjuntas. Los masistas y dirigentes cocaleros, buscan la confrontación. No iremos a la confrontación, no vamos a jugar ese juego, somos de la cultura de la vida, no de la muerte”, señaló Murillo.
Aseguró que “no tiene duda” de que detrás de esas acciones está el expresidente Evo Morales. “Él se alimenta de la muerte. En una grabación decía que maten, que cerquen, que maten de hambre, esa es la cultura que tiene ese señor”, acotó.
A su turno, López manifestó que están “indignados” por el trato que algunos grupos dieron a los efectivos policiales. “Nosotros somos de la cultura del diálogo y ante esta actitud beligerante, malintencionada, la respuesta que tendrán es seguir preocupándonos de la salud de los bolivianos (…) No se le va a dar el gusto a la violencia, vamos a seguir por la vía de la paz”, aseveró.
En la víspera, pobladores agredieron y expulsaron a los policías de Villa Tunari, Shinaota y Chimoré. El dirigente de la Federación Sindical de Trabajadores Campesinos, Omar Claros, dijo que se daría 24 horas a la Policía para que abandone esa zona.
Opinión de Bolivian Thoughts: ¡Nunca se pudo encontrar una prueba más clara de que evo en sus 14 años de poder absoluto había sometido a Bolivia al narcotráfico! ¡No solo estamos luchando contra un autócrata delirante, sino también contra el narcotráfico internacional!
