Government will define on Tuesday whether or not to extend quarantine

The government will define on Tuesday whether or not the total quarantine in force in the country since March 22 is extended and lasts until April 15, government minister Arturo Murillo reported on Sunday.
“It is an issue that is being analyzed by a team of scientists, at the head of the Ministry of Health and surely on Tuesday, that we will have a cabinet, it will be put on the table and the respective consultations will be made regarding the continuation or suspension of quarantine,” Murillo explained in contact with Radio Panamericana.
In recent days, departmental and municipal authorities in at least six departments in the country agreed not to lower their guard and asked for the quarantine to be extended to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
On Saturday, an inter-institutional meeting between authorities in the Oruro department, after an evaluation of the health emergency, decided to extend the quarantine until April 30.
Likewise, the mayor of La Paz, Luis Revilla said this Sunday that he considers that it is not time to lift the quarantine, taking into account that the number of cases in the municipality could increase in the coming days.
The coordinator between headquarters and the Ministry of Health, Luis Larrea, said that the most feasible and advisable is the extension of the quarantine.
The Secretary of Health of the Santa Cruz Governorate, Oscar Urenda, asked to continue the quarantine and suggested not to suspend the measure on April 15, as ordered by the Government.

Gobierno definirá el martes si amplía o no cuarentena
El Gobierno definirá el martes si se amplía o no la cuarentena total que rige en el país desde el 22 de marzo y se prolonga hasta el 15 de abril, informó este domingo el ministro de Gobierno, Arturo Murillo.
“Es un tema que está siendo analizado por un equipo de científicos, a la cabeza del Ministerio de Salud y seguramente el martes, que tendremos gabinete, será puesto en mesa y se harán las consultas respectivas de la continuación o suspensión de la cuarentena”, explicó Murillo en contacto con Radio Panamericana.
En los últimos días, autoridades departamentales y municipales de al menos seis departamentos del país coincidieron en no bajar la guardia y pidieron la ampliación de la cuarentena para evitar la propagación del coronavirus.
El sábado, una reunión interinstitucional entre autoridades del departamento de Oruro, después de una evaluación de la emergencia sanitaria, decidieron ampliar la cuarentena hasta el 30 de abril.
Asimismo, el alcalde de La Paz, Luis Revilla manifestó este domingo que considera que no es momento de levantar la cuarentena, tomando en cuenta que los próximos días podría incrementarse la cantidad de casos en el municipio.
El coordinador entre el Sedes y el ministerio de Salud, Luis Larrea, dijo que lo más viable y aconsejable es la ampliación de la cuarentena.
El secretario de Salud de la Gobernación de Santa Cruz, Oscar Urenda, pidió continuar con la cuarentena y sugirió no suspender la medida el 15 de abril, como dispuso el Gobierno.
