La Prensa reports:
ELECTRICITY GENERATION CAPACITY REACHED 1,642 Megawatts
Hydrocarbons Minister Juan Jose Sosa, reported that electricity generation capacity reached 1,642 megawatts (MW), representing more than 300 MW of reserve. “This is the maximum potential we have to deliver and demand is between 1,250 and 1,300 megawatts.”
As long as Bolivia continues to use alternative sources of energy without negatively impacting the environment, will be fine. However, I continue to express my deepest opposition towards the use of nuclear energy. Not only because other countries like Germany are abandoning its use but also because our country does not, repeat, does not have the skills to operate safely.
Government demagogue and its questionable alliances with Iran, Iraq, Syria, Libia, Cuba and Russia are not comforting nor safe to our population and environment.
