Despite all the national feedback, current government political party, has exerted their numeral superiority to pass the law in the lower and upper chambers of the National Assembly (former Congress). Now current president will have to sign it to start enforcement.
This law approves some sort of “consultation” (referendum) that still needs to be clarified or again, pushed in. This law takes away the rights of the TIPNIS indigenous community and practically “destroys” the concept of a national park status; the “intangible” concept now is broken and other national parks and biospheres in Bolivia are now in real peril.
